Easily reached via a short B.C. Ferry ride from West Vancouver, the Sunshine Coast offers year-round fishing. Feeder Chinooks are present during the winter months. Migratory Chinook will start showing in late spring with the best fishing occurring from June through August. Bluebacks start to appear as early as March with the action heating up by May. Mature Coho are best from June through September, while large Northerns are available to anglers from September through October. Pink and Sockeye are found from mid-August to mid-September. Chum salmon are best from mid-September to mid-October. Rockfish and Lingcod are available in season. From the town of Gibsons on the most southernly border of the Sunshine Coast to Powell River and Lund on the northern border, this area offers spectacular scenery, fine accommodations, services, launch facilities, as well as good fishing action.
