accessible with room for 5 camper type units. Good gravel boat and
trailer launch. Outhouses, firepits, no dock and no beach.

Fishing
Report: Capable of producing rainbows in the l2lb. range
with 3 to 4 lb. trout being the norm. Small kokanee are also around.
Trolling heavy gear is the most popular method on Bonaparte. Fly
fishers will often use Bonaparte as a base camp while making excursions
to the many very productive smaller lakes in the area.

Viewscape:
Bonaparte is situated in a low mountainous terrain which is l00%
forested except for the odd logged areas on the south side of the
lake. The north side consists mainly of Lodgepole pine with some
Douglas fir.
The south side is mostly Lodgepole
pine and spruce with some aspen and balsam.
Shoreline:
Bonaparte is a large clear lake (18km x 2km) that is light to dark
green in color. The lake has rocks at the bottom and edge in some
places. Mainly cobble with some bedrock and a few sandy beaches.
Alder and willows border the lake making access difficult. There
are few weeds surrounding the lake, although lilly pad, reed and
bottom cover type are present.

Hammer
Lake: Found about 3 km ( 2 miles ) from the south west
end of Bonaparte, this is a lake that should not be missed,with
an abundance of scuds along with good sedge and chironomid hatches
make this a great flyfishing lake. Rainbows to 5 lbs. are common.
Located at Hammer is a large, well treed BCFS campsite which is
RV and Trailer accessable. Boat launch available.
