Cathedral Lakes Lodge, near Keremeos, is Canada's highest full service hiking and fishing resort. Our lodge is located in Cathedral Provincial Park, in the provinces southwest, on the British Columbia and Washington State border. As a guest at Cathedral Lakes Lodge you have the option of staying in a comfortable lodge room, or a cozy cabin, while exploring the diverse terrain of Cathedral Provincial Park.

After a day of Hiking or Fishing guests at Cathedral Lakes Lodge can enjoy a relaxing soak in the hot tub, a good meal in the lodge dinning room and a pleasant evening in front of the stone fireplace. There are no radios, televisions or even room phones and many of our guests remark that the lodge is place where new found friends entertain themselves by engaging in the lost art of after dinner conversation.

Built in 1972 the two-story Cathedral Lakes Lodge is a "Bavarian Style" building. The main floor houses the kitchen, washrooms, dining room and the lounge with its massive stone fireplace. The hot tub room is on a mezzanine floor off the dinning room. Upstairs at Cathedral Lakes Lodge are six guestrooms and two washrooms with showers. Each guestroom is finished in cedar paneling and has a basin with hot and cold running water. Three of the rooms are furnished with double beds and three with twin beds. The rooms at the front of Cathedral Lakes Lodge all have a view of Quiniscoe Lake and Pyramid Mountain. For your convenience we also have several cabins and bungalows able to accommodate from 2 to 16 guests with the amenities you require.

Hiking in British Columbia's Cathedral Provincial Park offers you 33,000-hectare (80,000-acre) of mountain wilderness with azure lakes, alpine meadows, and jagged peaks lying on the transition zone between the North Cascade and Okanagan Mountain Ranges. The entrance to the Park is about 30 km from the town of Keremeos in Southwestern British Columbia, and Cathedral Rim Trail is the main attraction. This ridge hike (2500 meters above sea level) has spectacular views of the North Cascade and Coast Range mountains, and leads to the unusual geological formations unique to Cathedral Park. Cathedral Provincial Park is unique in the diversity it offers photographers.

From the base camp at the treeline, Cathedral Provincial Park includes grassland steppe ecosystem, a forest basin, subalpine meadows, and the "moonscapes" of the rim. In July and August a profusion of wildflowers can be found within any of these ecosystems.

The focal point of the park is the Cathedral Lakes chain. Each of these seven lakes has a charm of its own. Ladyslipper Lake is like a "turquoise jewel set in granite", while Lake of the Woods lays nestled in the sub alpine forest. Four of the lakes were stocked with cutthroat and rainbow trout in the 1930's. Today the fish spawn naturally, assuring fishing opportunities ranging from abundant pan sized cutthroats in Lake of the Woods and Pyramid Lake to trophy sized rainbow in Layslipper Lake. Rowboats and canoes are available at Cathedral Lakes Lodge for fishing on Quiniscoe Lake and our chef will be happy to fry your catch for you.

For those visiting the area that won’t be staying over night in the park, Cathedral Lakes Lodge operates a special day trip shuttle up the mountain. This is your opportunity to experience alpine adventure day trips … to experience breathtaking alpine vista's … all in Cathedral Provincial Park. Come stay with us at Cathedral Lakes Lodge, in Cathedral Provincial Park … its "unsurpassed for sheer beauty or variety of terrain".
